Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that selected Tax Offices will reopen today, Friday, October 31.

These locations are:

  •  St Andrew Revenue Service Centre (Constant Spring)
  • Kingston Revenue Service Centre
  • Cross Roads Tax Office
  • Portmore Tax Office
  • Spanish Town Tax Office

The reopening of these offices follows detailed assessments, minor repairs, clean-up operations, and restoration of the organisation’s localised ICT systems after the passage of Hurricane Melissa on Tuesday, October 28. Customers may experience service delays at some locations, as TAJ continues efforts to restore operations to full normalcy in the shortest possible time.

In the meantime, work will continue in the coming days and weeks to further assess and restore services to other locations as soon as connectivity and other issues are resolved and it is safe to do so. The public will be kept informed of the reopening of other offices, particularly those in central and western parishes that were more severely affected by the hurricane.

During this period, customers are reminded that they may continue to access a wide range of business-related online payments and filing options, including: · TAJ’s website: www.jamaicatax.gov.jm—for mandatory electronic filing and payments using a credit card or other banking card with credit card features. · Direct Funds Transfer (DFT): for business-related tax payments. · Scotia Online and Mobile App. · National Commercial Bank (NCB) Online Banking Platform.

Additionally, payments may be made via TAJ’s website for fitness certificates, Property Tax, and to settle traffic ticket fines, as well as pay for renewal of driver’s licenses. It should be noted that persons who pay their driver’s licence renewal fee online may drive with the receipt and expired Licence for up to 60 days, but are advised that they must submit the necessary documentation to have the driver’s licence card printed.

Motorists may also renew their private motor vehicle registrations online. Tax Administration Jamaica apologises for any inconvenience caused and encourages all citizens to continue taking necessary precautions to remain safe.
