Curfew imposed in sections of western Jamaica

Effective Wednesday, November 12, a daily curfew was imposed in sections of St Elizabeth, St James, and Westmoreland. The curfews will run from 10:00 pm nightly until 6:00 am the following day.

The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

St Elizabeth/ Manchester to Westmoreland Corridor:

From the border of Manchester and St Elizabeth along the main South Coast thoroughfare through Santa Cruz, Lacovia, Middle Quarters to the border of Westmoreland and St Elizabeth.

St James to Westmoreland Corridor:

From the intersection of Long Hill Road and Bogue main road in St James, continuing through Anchovy, Ramble, Haddo to Ferris Cross in Westmoreland. From Long Hill intersection with Bogue main road via Great River through Lucea to the Westmoreland border.

Montego Bay Corridor:

Horace Chang Boulevard, from the roundabout at the intersection with Morgan Road and Patterson Avenue, along the thoroughfare to Norwood Garden Boulevard.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries of the curfew with the exception of essential workers, are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the ground commander.
