Scotiabank Jamaica is advising customers that real-time gross settlement (RTGS) fees have been reinstated effective February 13, ending a 10-week waiver on incoming and outgoing charges.

The bank, in a statement to customers on February 20, noted that these are not new fees and the RTGS service is an option for express transfers to clients at other local banks. The RTGS service is to be used for all transactions over J$1 million.

The RTGS fee waiver was first introduced by the Bank of Jamaica on November 2, 2025, days after the passage of Hurricane Melissa, with commercial banks following suit and suspending charges up to December 31.

Scotiabank disclosed that the automated clearing house (ACH) transfer option remains available for standard transfers.
