The American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AmCham Jamaica) has announced that Ann-Dawn Young Sang, of Young Sang Bakery and AYS Global Consults Limited, has been re-elected as president of the American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AmCham Jamaica).

Young Sang and the new AmCham Jamaica Board were elected during the annual general meeting at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

“I am pleased to once again be entrusted by the membership to continue this work,” said Young Sang.

“As president, I came into office in the last quarter of 2019 recognising that though there were challenges there were also incredible opportunities for us to continue to serve AmCham Jamaica’s valued and loyal members. The pandemic only deepened that resolve and pushed us as an American Chamber of Commerce to do even more. And we have.”

She has the Certified Public Accountant designation and has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of general management, finance and accounting. Young Sang also sits on the Boards of several other entities.

The election of Young Sang also saw the re-election for the 2022-2026 period of three AmCham Jamaica Vice Presidents – Ian Forbes (Sherwin Williams), Stephen Price (Liberty/FLOW) and Mark McDonald (J Wray and Nephew Limited/Campari Group).

Two new directors, Karoline Smith (Sol Petroleum), and Derrick Reckord (GraceKennedy), were elected to the Board. They join re-elected directors Verona Carter (New Fortress Energy), Eva Lewis (Citibank), Derrick Nembhard (Jamaica Flour Mills/ADM), Allison Peart (A Peart Advisory Services Limited/Tobibby Jamaica Limited), Paul Tai (Nunes Scholefield DeLeon & Co.) and Michael Subratie (T. Geddes Grant/Musson Group).

“Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team that is committed to providing the strength and stability AmCham Jamaica and our members need to ensure that we remain strong and resilient,” said Jodi-Ann Quarrie, AmCham Jamaica CEO. “With their history of leadership, I look forward to working closely with President Young Sang and the Board to ensure AmCham Jamaica makes a positive impact for all stakeholders, including AmCham members, our people, and society.”
