This year, there will be a lot of action-packed, comedic and exciting films released as producers deliver some highly anticipated movies.

A few of the releases for this year will feature the continuation of hit films such as John Wick, Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 and more.

With so many movies coming out, it can be hard to keep track of them all. As such, Our Today has created a list of some of the most anticipated movies this year.

So, grab a pen and paper or mark the release dates on your calendar.

1. Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Release date: February 17, 2023

Genre: Adventure/ Fantasy

Cast: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton and William Jackson Harper.

Synopsis: Ant Man and Wasp explore the Quantum Realm, pushing themselves to the limit as they experience things like never before.

2. Creed III

Release date: March 3, 2023

Genre: Drama/ Sport

Cast: Michael B Jordan, Jonathan Majors, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris and Phylicia Rashad.

Synopsis: When an old family friend, Damion, resurfaces from prison to establish his dominance in the ring, Adonis Creed must put his future on the line to battle.

3. John Wick: Chapter 4

Release date: March 24, 2023

Genre: Action/ Thriller

Cast:  Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Synopsis: Known as a legendary hit man, Wick moves on to fight the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld.

4. Super Mario Bros. Movie

Release date: April 7, 2023

Genre: Comedy/ Adventure

Cast: Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael. 

Synopsis: Mario travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, trying to save a captured princess.

5. Guardians of the galaxy Vol. 3

Release date: May 5, 2023

Genre: Adventure/ Sci- Fi

Cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and , Bradley Cooper.

Synopsis: The film is part three of the Marvel film that sees various super heroes travelling through space, fighting villains.

6. The Little Mermaid

Release date: May 26, 2023

Genre: Musical/ Fantasy

Cast: Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem and Jude Akuwudike.

Synopsis: Desperate to become a human after falling in love with a Prince, a young mermaid makes a deal with a sea witch  to experience life on land.

7. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Release date: June 9, 2023

Genre: Sci- Fi Action

Cast:  Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Pete Davidson and Ron Perlman.

Synopsis: The film that sets in the 1990’s sees Predacons and Terrorcons join the existing battle on Earth between Autobots and Decepticons.

8. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Release date: July 14, 2023

Genre: Action/ Adventure

Cast: Tom Cruise,  Pom Klementieff , Rebecca Ferguson , Vanessa Kirby , Cary Elwes and Angela Bassett.

Synopsis: The film is the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout and is the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series.

9. Barbie

Release date: July 21, 2023

Genre: Comedy/ Fantasy

Cast: Margot Robbie, Will Ferrell, Ryan Gosling, Helen Mirren and Emma Mackey.

Synopsis: After being labelled as an unperfect doll in Barbieland, Barbie sets off to join the human and find true happiness.

10. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Release date: November 17, 2023

Genre: Action/ Adventure

Cast: Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, and Viola Davis.

Synopsis: Years before he becomes the tyrannical president of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow sees a chance for a change in fortunes when he mentors Lucy Gray Baird, the female tribute from District 12.
