The infamous day of Friday the 13th has led to the creation of multiple horror and bad luck movies that can be watched to mark the occasion.

Friday the 13th is known as a day of bad luck, with various superstitions that say a person can have a lifetime of bad luck if they perform certain tasks. These include walking under a ladder, spilling salt and more.

In the entertainment industry, there are multiple films dedicated to this day, the majority of which are horror films.

If you are looking for a few movies that you can watch to mark the occasion, here are some films that you can watch.

1. Friday the 13th (1980)

Cast:  Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Jeannine Taylor, Robbi Morgan and Kevin Bacon.

Synopsis: A Summer camp on a site that was closed for years turns into a nightmare when a group of counsellors are killed one by one. The movie was the first Friday the 13th movie made in the series.

Synopsis: Dave had the life he always wanted, but things turned south when he was fired and dumped by his fiance. He then tries to shoot his boss for revenge, but ends up getting an idea to rob a bank.

3. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No good, Very Bad Day

Genre: Comedy, Family

Cast:  Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Ed Oxenbould, Dylan Minnette and Kerris Dorsey 

Synopsis: For Alexander, life is filled with bad days, while the rest of his family enjoys a peaceful life. In the early morning on his birthday, he makes a wish for everyone else to have experience a bad day as well which leads to the family experiencing a day of chaos.

Cast: Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker and Shahadi Wright Joseph.

Synopsis: A woman and her family get attacked by a mysterious figure. Upon closer, inspection, she later realizes that the person attacking them are exact lookalikes of her family.

5. The Nun

Cast: Demián Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, Bonnie Aarons and Ingrid Bisu.

Synopsis: A priest and a novice arrive in Romania to investigate the death of a young nun. However, things take an ugly turn after they encounter a supernatural force.

6. Jinxed

Synopsis: A family was cursed by a with who declared that they would have bad luck for generations to come. When a teenager girl, Meg Murphy gets tired of being jinxed, she and her brother go on a mission to stop the family curse.

7. Freddy vs Jason (2003)

Synopsis: Freddy who is losing power, resurrects Jason to terrorize the people of Springwood. The movie is a crossover film between A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series.

Synopsis: The Perron  family experience a series of paranormal activity. They then seek help in trying to get rid of the evil spirit.

9. Black Swan

Synopsis: A ballerina is presented with the dream of a lifetime when she is asked to dance The Black Swan. But, she finds herself slipping into madness when the director says the role might be better suited for someone else.

Synopsis: A man and his sister discover something sinister in the skies above their California horse ranch, while the owner of a nearby theme park tries to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon.
