Jamaicans are set to benefit from a sharp plummet in prices this week following the latest update from State-owned refinery Petrojam.
Petrojam, in a reversal of its petroleum product index seven days prior, slashed $2.46 on 87-octane gasolene prices, which now close at J$168.12 as of Thursday (February 23).
The price reduction was consistent for all other commonly sought products and was most pronounced across automotive diesel, ultra-low-sulphur diesel and kerosene.
It is expected, however, that retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
