A look at Labour Day activities across Jamaica

On May 23 each year, unless it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, Jamaicans observe Labour Day by volunteering their time and energy towards the beautification and enhancement of communities across the island.

On Labour Day, Jamaicans from “all walks of life ” engage in a variety of activities – whether its planting trees, repairing the elderly neighbour’s homes or giving community centres a fresh coat of paint. Labour Day in Jamaica is synonymous with all these undertakings.

Labour Day 2023 was no different! Here are some highlights from Labour Day activities across the island.

St. James

St. Catherine

St. Andrew

St. Thomas
