A royal announcement from Queen Elizabeth II, herself. Mark your calendars, royal watchers, you’re in for a treat!
Reportedly, the Queen will speak in a televised programme scheduled for Sunday, March 7, the same day an Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, is scheduled to air.
Commonwealth Day will be recognised a day later, on March 8.
Last year, the Commonwealth Day Service held at the Westminster Abbey marked the last royal appearance of the Prince, 36 and his wife, 39.

The couple would subsequently step down from their posts as royal seniors.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Commonwealth plans have been cancelled.
However, instead of remaining silent, the Queen has decided to take the faith of her family in her hands.
She will share a message that will air on BBC One, according to the Daily Mail.
Along with the Queen, the televised programme will include special and prominent appearances by Prince Charles, Prince William and William’s wife, Kate.

In the Sunday Times, a source close to Prince William reported that there has been disagreement between the royal brothers, stating, “he’s very upset by what has happened and found Harry and Meghan’s behaviour insulting and disrespectful”.
After Harry’s and Meghan’s departure last year, the chaos restarted earlier this month when it was revealed that Winfrey would be sitting down with them for a 90-minute primetime interview airing on CBS.
The couple met Winfrey prior to their lavish 2018 nuptials which started the crumbling of Harry’s relationship with his family.

According to CBS, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure”.
The interview is indeed a cause for concern and is considered as such by the Royal family as they are unaware of what will be shared publicly.
It is believed to be the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back, resulting in the Queen’s announcement last week that Harry and Meghan would be stripped of all their royal titles.
