Impressed producer in screen test for James Bond
English actor, Aaron Taylor Johnson has reportedly impressed the bosses in a screen test for the next James Bond.
Current James Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli was said to be impressed by the 32-year-old actor during an audition at Pinewood Studios, where many of the franchise’s films have been filmed.
Taylor Johnson, who is best known for his portrayal of the title character in Kick-Ass and its 2013 sequel stands a good chance of being selected to replace Daniel Craig for the iconic super British
spy role of James Bond.
Auditioning of the James Bond role follows news that Idris Elba walked away from ‘years of talks’ with movie bosses to become the next James Bond, paving the way for a new 007.
A source told The Sun: “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the front-runners.”
He is married to Fifty Shades of Grey director, Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Taylor Johnson started out in the 2001 series Armadillo before featuring in The Bill and Casualty and securing his big break in the 2009 John Lennon biopic, Nowhere Boy.
He went on to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe character, Pietro Maximoff in a cameo appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
