Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen has appointed Kelly-Ann Murdock as Acting Director of Corruption Prosecution at the Integrity Commission.

She replaces Roneiph Lawrence, who resigned the position, effective March 31, 2026.

Lawrence’s appointment to the position last year was met with objections by the ruling Jamaica Labour Party on the basis that he is reportedly a long-time friend of People’s National Party (PNP) General Secretary Dr. Dayton Campbell.

The Commission notes that concerns regarding the integrity of sections of the pipeline were identified prior to the passage of Hurricane Melissa. Subsequent post-event assessments confirmed that approximately 3 kilometres of pipeline infrastructure were significantly impacted, necessitating extensive rehabilitation works. It is worth noting that while the substantial part of Martha Brae- Salt Marsh area has been restored, more time and resources is necessary to restore pockets of the network such as this one.
