British songstress Adele has sent millions of fans into a fevered frenzy on Tuesday (October 5), with a teaser of her first single from the much-anticipated fourth studio album.

Adele, whose social media pages changed to a mysterious teal-blue background, dropped a 21-second teaser for Easy On Me, which is set for release next Friday, October 15.

Twitter users, dubbing Adele’s return as ‘Sad Girl Fall’, are buzzing with anticipation for the Grammy Award-winner and powerful performer.

Close to two hours after its release, the Easy On Me clip has gathered over three million views on Twitter alone and sent Adele atop the summit of online conversation as the number trending topic.

The rumour mill has been churning in overdrive when she posted her first tweet since January just yesterday, ending a nine-month hiatus.

Weeks before, however, fans were speculating the songbird was ‘up to something’ as teal-blue billboards popped up across the world bearing the number ’30’—a single breadcrumb in the trail of clues hinting at what Adele’s fourth album could be titled.

Adele, famous for taking her own time with her musical projects, didn’t give away much with the teaser but that didn’t stop most fans from hoping the singer hits them with all the feels.

In the clip, Adele places a cassette bearing the name of the single into her car deck as she turns to the rearview mirror with smokey eyes and a piercing gaze.

At one point, while the piano ballad plays, music sheets spill through the car window as Adele waves her left hand into the air.
