German sportswear giant Adidas, in collaboration with the Bob Marley Estate, is reportedly set to release a Bob Marley version of the shoe company’s retro SL 72 running sneaker in the coming months.

According to reports from Complex Networks, the special edition sneaker is set to be launched as part of Adidas’ Summer 2024 range.

Neither Adidas nor the Bob Marley Estate had given any prior hint of a collaboration, or preview of the sneaker.

However, photo previews of the sneaker shared by Complex Networks depicted the One Love singer’s signature emblazoned in gold and affixed to the heel of the shoe.

The sneaker has a black exterior accentuated with green, yellow and gold along the sole. A photo of Bob and his name was also featured on the tongue of the shoe.

This collaboration follows the recent release of the Bob Marley: One Love biopic, which has been a major success.

The movie is said to have grossed over US$100 million in just over a week of its global opening.

This new sneaker will become an addition to a selection of Bob Marley-inspired clothing and accessories that are already being distributed to the global market.
