Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris should pick Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania as her vice president-running mate.

It would make for a dynamic ticket and Shapiro makes up for her awkwardness with the media.

Shapiro is politically savvy, articulate, telegenic, energetic and is a fantastic communicator.

Harris has to win Pennsylvania and he can help her do so. He has a 54 per cent approval rating in Pennsylvania.

Like Harris, he has a legal background and was a former Attorney-General. According to reports, they get on well.

The Democrats have some good options for the position of vice-president.- Gretchen Whitmer, Pete Buttigieg and Tim Walz readily come to mind.

It would be advisable that the Democrats take on Trump with a male/female ticket, as it is certain to be Kamala Harris standing in the Democratic Party’s corner.

Shapiro is 51 and can have a run at the presidency over the next decade. This could be his launching pad.

He won’t just be some kind of ceremonial Vice President, he could be assigned significant tasks and get these jobs done. It would be interesting to see how he would go about handling border issues and immigration if that was thrown into his lap.

Even some Republicans like him. Chris Christie thinks he would make a fine vice president.

Shapiro has received the support of President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Michael Bloomberg in the past, that’s how highly rated he is.

The Governor of Pennsylvania is a detail-oriented guy, and his work on a report of sexual abuse of more than 1,000 children by Catholic priests has been praised.

There are those who say his Jewish faith and upbringing could prove problematic and alienate support, given the present Middle-East tensions and wide spread support for Palestine.

It shouldn’t. A Harris/Shapiro ticket is reflective of modern America and speaks to its diversity and inclusivity. It shows how far the country has come.

The ticket is an intriguing counterpoint to Trump’s MAGA movement.

Shapiro is a political athlete, reminiscent of a Barack Obama and Bill Clinton in their pomp. He is a boon to Harris and can help get her over the line. He would be very effective with the media, more so than J.D. Vance.

Two years ago, Josh Shapiro said: “ I understand people feel like our politics are divided and broken right now, but we can’t just take our ball and go home. There’s too much on the line, we all have a responsibility to show up, stand up, and fight for what is right. As governor, I’ll stay in the game-no matter what.”

That sums up the man—steadfast, on mission, committed, and determined. He will bring vitality and can be a change agent, bringing Americans together and plugging into their commonality.

He is a man who “get’s s… done.” That’s what Harris needs.
