Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that all Tax Offices islandwide will be closed on Election Day, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 12 noon.

This closure is in keeping with the Government of Jamaica’s (GOJ) commitment to ensuring that all eligible citizens, including public sector employees, are given an opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

The tax authority encourages taxpayers to use the online services available to conduct their transactions during this time.

These include the payment of property tax, motor vehicle certificate of fitness fee and driver’s licence renewal fee payment, as well as traffic ticket fines, business-related taxes and fees.

Additionally, persons may query their property tax liability, apply for tax compliance certificates (TCCs) and renew their Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate (MVRC).

Normal operations at all tax offices will resume on Thursday, September 4.
