Alorica Inc. announced today (April 25) that it has over 350 job openings in customer service and sales available to be filled within the next few months to serve some of the most prominent global companies in the telecommunication and hospitality industries.

As a result of Alorica Jamaica’s performance and family-like culture anchored by its dedicated team members, the company has been able to secure high-profile clients, and experience an increase in customer demand to expand its operations during a time of uncertainty across the island.

According to data from the International Labour Organization (ILO), almost half a million workers in the Caribbean face an increase in informal employment, a deterioration of their working conditions, and a reduction in their income due to the pandemic.

In Jamaica, layoffs reached approximately 75 per cent of the total tourism industry workforce and the remaining 25 per cent worked only two or three days a week. Hotels laid off almost 71 per cent of staff and, as of April 2020, about 66 per cent of hotels had reduced work hours and 53 per cent had adjusted wages, according to a recently-published ILO report.

“Alorica remains committed to Jamaica and we are proud to be able to invest in creating jobs here with competitive compensation, attractive benefits and accelerated career development opportunities. Although we are currently hiring for 350 new positions, we aim to create hundreds more by the end of this year. Our growth projections for Jamaica are promising and clearly a testament to the high-quality performance and talent of our Jamaican colleagues, who deliver insanely great service that Alorica is known for and that our clients have come to expect from us,” said Andre Richards, customer experience director at Alorica Jamaica.

In a bid to meet its recruitment goals, Alorica is banking on employee benefits including: flexible working schedules; learning and professional development opportunities; an engaging, fun, clean and safe workplace environment that adheres to all government and health guidelines; health and life insurance; education financial assistance; free transportation; on-site medical clinic; discounts on medical expense; and the support and stability of being a part of one of the largest global customer experience companies.

“As such, we treat Aloricans with respect, provide them with support and make it a point to always do right by them. For example, we invest in our team members through development programs that have allowed us to promote employees from within, filling 99% of open positions in this way. Our tuition reimbursement program, which is available to employees at all levels, is another way we support our people and their future here at Alorica professionally, and in their lives personally,” McFarlane explained.

“Furthermore, we are focused on celebrating diversity and encouraging inclusivity. And we walk the talk, too; currently, 66 per cent of our leadership roles here on the island are held by women. Also, we hire applicants from different backgrounds and from all walks of life. We want jobseekers to bring their whole selves to Alorica with simply a willingness to learn, excitement to grow and integrity above all else.  We know our true strength comes not from our similarities, but from our differences. If anyone is looking for a new career opportunity, I say, why not try us? You never know…Alorica could be exactly what you’ve been looking for,” Richards said in closing.
