Amazon Inc. has announced that Prime Day 2024, the annual discount-shopping extravaganza exclusive to Amazon Prime members around the world, will run from July 16-17.

For its 10th official Prime Day event, Amazon partnered with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion to release a new track and music video to announce all the upcoming deals.

To add to the excitement, the much-anticipated invite-only deals are making a comeback, offering significant savings on items like up to 40 per cent off Sony Wireless Headphones and up to 30 per cent off Peloton products.

Prime members don’t have to wait until July 16 to start saving. Amazon is already rolling out early deals on products from popular brands like New Balance, HP, and Coach. Influencers such as Jess Sims, Alyssa McKay, and Millie Bobby Brown will also be dropping exclusive deals on their favourite items daily from July 8 – July 15.

Amazon Prime vice president Jamil Ghani says, “Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, featuring millions of deals across more than 35 product categories.”

Last year, Amazon customers saved nearly US$24 billion, with Prime members enjoying the bulk of those savings.

To maximise your Prime Day experience, consider these shopping tips:

• Lightning deals: These limited-time promotions are released throughout the event, so keep an eye out for short-lived opportunities.
• Alexa deal alerts: Prime members can use Alexa to track deals on items in their Wish List, Cart, or Save for Later. Simply say, “Alexa, add [product name] to my cart,” to receive notifications.
• Invite-only deals: Request an invitation on the product page to access exclusive deals before they sell out. Look for significant discounts, such as 40 per cert off on Speedo Champion Signature Swim bundles and 58 per cent off on Foreo LUNA mini 3 sets.
• Personalised deal notifications: Set up deal alerts for personalised notifications based on your recent searches and views. Visit the Prime Day event page on the Amazon Shopping app to create these alerts.
• Convenient delivery options: Enjoy fast, free delivery on millions of items, with flexible delivery options across thousands of package pick-up locations.
