The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) of Jamaica is offering support for Jamaican businesses seeking to expand in the United States through its 2024 Trade & Investment Business Summit.
The event, scheduled for July 10 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, will focus on opportunities for local businesses under the theme ‘Jamaica-USA Trade Connect: Expanding Horizons in Outbound Commerce’.
Neil Herrington, senior vice president for the Americas Programme at the US Chamber of Commerce, will headline the event. As the world’s largest business organisation and network, the US Chamber of Commerce optimises relationships between government and businesses at scale, across its economy and around the world.
Herrington has a diverse career in international marketing, strategic planning, and trade in both the private and public sectors. He is set to deliver the keynote address, discussing the state of the US and bilateral trade opportunities for the Caribbean and Latin America.
“We are thrilled to have Neil Herrington share his extensive experience in international trade and strategic planning. In his capacity at the US Chamber of Commerce, he plays a key role in the decision-making process for policy, making his insights invaluable for businesses looking to expand their operations and forge new partnerships between Jamaica and the US,” said Ann-Dawn Young Sang, president of AMCHAM Jamaica.

The summit is expected to be a unique platform for businesses of all sizes to explore and capitalise on trade opportunities.
Young Sang expressed the organisation’s commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties. Investment Minister Aubyn Hill will also address guests at the event.
In addition, panel discussions will be hosted, covering topics such as US trade show opportunities presented by the US Embassy Kingston, programmes to support supply chain services, how to get Jamaican food products into the American market, and the potential impact of current affairs and trends such as the upcoming US elections on international business.
“This summit is a launchpad for Jamaican business owners to seize the opportunity to invest in the US and expand globally. We are uniquely positioned to engage these influential leaders and have them share business knowledge. We encourage more Jamaican entities to take advantage of this chance to grow and thrive. Our members are especially well positioned with unmatched access to the right people and resources to facilitate meaningful business engagement,” said Allison Peart, chair of the trade and investment committee at AMCHAM.

Peart is also a member of the governing body of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA).
Attendees will gain exclusive insights into the benefits of AMCHAM membership, including networking opportunities, access to US trade missions, and information on current trade incentives and programmes.
