American rapper Dave East and Jamaican dancehall star, Popcaan yesterday released their recently produced single, ‘Unruly’, which is already gaining traction among local and overseas music fans.
The new single was accompanied by a brand new video, which is currently trending on YouTube. ‘Unruly’ is one of the tracks off the American rapper’s new album ‘Karma 3’, which is available now.

The video was shot from the moment East arrived in Jamaica at the Norman Manley International Airport. While being melodic, the single is laced with expletives.
The video is filled with authentic scenes of Jamaica from the vast blue sea to the landscape and large rocks. The video, along with the single, came together within a few weeks as the duo spent little time socialising but more time in the recording studio.
It wasn’t all work though, as the duo did spent some time socialising, particularly in the video. In the video, Popcaan sings the chorus and final verse of the single, which the duo is optimistic will be a hit among fans.
In the first two verses of the video, East mentions veteran reggae and dancehall icons like Peter Tosh, Supa Cat, Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton and others. Some of the night scenes in the video were shot in Tivoli Gardens.
It is fitting that this West Kingston community was featured in the single since East sang about incarcerated don Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, the infamous leader of the renowned ‘Shower Posse’ based in Tivoli Gardens. He was also seen as the ‘enforcer’ in that ghetto community.
Coke is now serving time in a federal prison in America.
