
US Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Philadelphia Union, has announced that goalkeeper Andre Blake has been called up to the Jamaican National Team for the upcoming FIFA international window.
Blake, captain of the Reggae Boyz, joins the squad for the fifth round of Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers. The veteran goalkeeper has earned 90 caps and recorded 33 clean sheets for Jamaica, most recently posting a shutout against Bermuda.
Jamaica will face Trinidad and Tobago on November 13 (7:00 p.m.) and Curacao on November 18 (8:00 p.m.) He should be available for the Philadelphia Union’s Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday, November 23rd at 7:30 pm ET at Subaru Park.
They will host rivals New York City FC, having beaten Chicago Fire FC in a penalty kick shootout where Andre Blake made a crucial opening save.
