Former government minister and People’s National Party (PNP) stalwart KD Knight has said that Prime Minister Andrew Holness has been a letdown and his leadership performance has been disappointing.

He made the stinging observation while speaking at the West Central St Andrew candidate presentation of Paul Buchanan on Sunday (February 16).

Buchanan faces the task of upsetting Holness in a constituency he hasn’t lost since becoming Member of Parliament in 1997.

The outspoken attorney declared: “Here is a man who said I come from a two-room board house. When he said that he touched my heart. I said to myself, ‘My God, things are happening in Jamaica, that such a man can move to become prime minister of Jamaica’. I said to people, ‘Big Up Andrew’! After I big up the man, he goes into Parliament and lets me down bad.”

“He took me to a point where I said, ‘Let me give him another chance because some ministers had done some wrongs and he fired them’.  I bigged him up and said ‘Good work Andrew’!” Knight continued.

“Then I start read and hear some things about him. I said ‘Andrew didn’t have a mirror at home’, because if he had a mirror at home, when he looked into it, he would say ‘I got to fire myself’! But since he won’t fire himself, you Paul Buchanan must do that. When the sheriff says it’s time to go, it’s time to go.”
