Andrew Holness, Mark Golding get first shots of AstraZeneca vaccine

administratorPrime Minister Andrew Holness officially received his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Monday (March 22) at Kingston’s Good Samaritan Inn.
The prime minister, who was also joined by wife and Member of Parliament Juliet Holness, as well as Opposition Leader Mark Golding and Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton, appeared to be in good spirits even joking that the media attention of his getting the jab was seemingly overblown.
“It’s just a vaccine!” he retorted after accepting the highly sought booster.
For his part, Opposition Leader Mark Golding encouraged all Jamaicans to get the coronavirus vaccine once it becomes available.
“I think the greater fear is COVID-19 and what it can do either to you or your loved ones. If you look at what’s going on around the world, literally hundreds of millions of people are being vaccinated. The side effects have proved to be very manageable, there’s a lot of misinformation going around on social media but please, just pay attention to the official information provided by the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization. Don’t take chances with your life or with your loved ones. Get vaccinated,” Golding explained.
