Hollywood actress and film-maker Angelina Jolie came to the Caribbean’s most notable book festival, Calabash in Jamaica’s Treasure Beach on Saturday.

She was accompanied by her two daughters Shiloh and Zahara and was squired by English author Akala who was very protective of the trio and shepherded them around the grounds of the festival.

At one point they made their way to Jack Sprat where Jolie could be seen sipping on a coconut.

They seem to be all having a good time, with Jolie visiting and purchasing items from the local artisans.

Last year, Jolie took Zahara to Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia where she stayed with the 17-year-old for move-in day. The mother beamed with pride as her daughter began college life getting to know students. A few years earlier she settled her oldest son
Maddox into Yonsei University in Seoul where he studied biochemistry.

Jolie has always placed great stock in books and may well have wanted to impart this to her kids.

She once said during an interview, “ I love reading. I use to collect books yes. I do have some good books from Spanish authors.”
