JetBlue adding more flights to the destination
Barbados is currently experiencing a surge in tourism such that it is getting additional airlift coming mostly out of North America.
As tourism to the island continues to heat up, JetBlue Airways has indicated that it will be adding more flights to the destination come this fall, which begins in September.
Beginning November 1, JetBlue will be adding a second weekly flight between Boston and Barbados, meaning service will be operating on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The airline will also be maintaining its second daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Barbados through February 2024. Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., which is the island’s premier tourism marketer, is excited about the prospect of the continued double daily departures from JFK.”
Eusi Skeete, US Director for Barbados Tourism Marketing commented, “This increased capacity has the potential to add significant capacity out of the Tri-State area in what promises the busy winter season. Our strong collaborative approach with JetBlue has been integral to the results we are now seeing, and we couldn’t be happier to continue to build on this longstanding partnership.”
Barbados is readying for its uber-popular Crop Over event, one of the Caribbean’s premier summer festivals.
