American actress Kerry Washington is the latest celebrity to visit Jamaica, basking in the sun in downtown Kingston as she embraces the art and culture of Jamaica.

Washington, who appears to be taking some time away from the big screen and Hollywood, shared photos of her at the Kingston Creative Art Walk yesterday (June 25).

In multiple pictures, a glowing Washington is seen posing in front of some of the artwork lining the strip, decked in a green, yellow, and red tropical dress.

She captioned the photos ‘Jamaica’ with a location emoji attached, signaling to her millions of followers that she was on the island.

The Kingston Creative team also commented on the post thanking the actress for stopping by.

“Thank you so much for taking part in our ArtWalk Festival!” they wrote.

Washington is no stranger to Jamaica. In fact, she shares Jamaican roots and is of Jamaican parentage because of her mother, Valerie Washington.

In 2019, the actress paid homage to her roots indicating that she was extremely proud to be Jamaican.

The Scandal star joins a list of several celebrities who have since grazed the island’s shores to participate in our culture and enjoy our white sandy beaches. Recently, American actress Angelina Jolie also visited the island for the Calabash event.

Rappers Carib B and Offset, actress Tracee Ellis Ross and Dua Lipa also visited the island recently.
