The NBA All-Star Weekend wrapped up at the Intuit Dome on Sunday, with Team Stars claiming victory over Team Stripes.

Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves stole the show, earning the All-Star MVP award, now named the Kobe Bryant Trophy, after finishing with eight points, four rebounds, and two assists in the final showdown, adding to a total of 32 points, nine rebounds, and three assists across the weekend’s games.

The new format brought fans to their feet, featuring a round-robin style, where two US teams faced Team World in four fast-paced 12-minute games. Thrilling finishes included De’Aaron Fox’s game-winning three-pointer for Team Stripes in the opening matchup and Scottie Barnes’s clutch three in overtime to defeat Team World.

In the final, Edwards led a squad alongside Jalen Duren, Devin Booker, and Tyrese Maxey to victory over a Team Stripes roster featuring stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard. Despite Team Stripes’ star power, fatigue from earlier games seemed to give Team Stars the edge.

The weekend’s fresh format energised fans both in the arena and at home, leaving many excited about the potential for this style of All-Star competition in future NBA seasons.
