The People’s National Party (PNP) extends its sincere condolences to the Government and people of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana following the tragic capsizing of the MV Barima, which has resulted in the loss of lives and left many others still unaccounted for.
Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign, Regional and Diaspora Affairs, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, expressed the Party’s sympathy, saying: “The heartbreaking events unfolding in Guyana have deeply saddened us all. On behalf of the People’s National Party, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who have suffered unimaginable loss and to those who continue to await news of their loved ones. We keep the people of Guyana in our thoughts during this difficult period and commend the courage and dedication of the rescue personnel who continue their tireless efforts.”
The People’s National Party reaffirms its solidarity with the people of Guyana and expresses its confidence that the enduring spirit of Caribbean unity will continue to guide the region as Guyana navigates the aftermath of this tragedy.
