Arosa Limited, a company under the Derrimon Trading Group, continues to support the Jamaica Inn Foundation’s annual backgammon tournament, which is now in its 6th year.

The tournament was established to aid in raising awareness and funds which contribute to the sustenance and development of Jamaica’s coral reefs and marine life. As an integral supplier to the tourist industry, Arosa understands how important environmental sustainability is to the preservation of Jamaica.

The competition is set to take place between June 2-4, 2023 at the Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios, where approximately 50 competitors will be going head to head for a chance to win over JM$1 million in cash and prizes.

As a gold sponsor of the tournament, Arosa will have its delicious products as part of breakfast, lunch and general refreshments for the participants.

“At Arosa we are very aware of the social and environmental issues affecting our nation. One way in which we can contribute to this is to be a partner with a noble and far-reaching enterprise such as this and we are committed to it. We are here not only as business partners, but the work being done is quite admirable in aid of sustaining the environment and we are happy to be a part of it,”  shared Stewart Jacobs, general manager, Arosa Limited.

An overview of this year’s activities, updates on the main beneficiary, White River Sanctuary, as well as their current ongoing initiatives, were highlighted at yesterday’s press conference. Additionally, the announcement of project expansion to include contributions to the care and preservation of the Mammee Bay Sanctuary.

“We at Jamaica Inn feel that strong relations with our business partners is an ingredient of our success over the past 65 years of operation. Loyalty is very important to one’s resilience building and I am pleased to call Arosa a very important partner as they have been there through thick and thin. Arosa’s support of the White River Fish Sanctuary via their support of the Jamaica Inn Foundation’s fundraising event, is an indication that they place great emphasis as a company on environmental protection initiatives and hence our values are very aligned. Thank you Arosa for your partnership, support and environmental consciousness,” shared Kyle Mais, Jamaica Inn Foundation board member and resort manager at Jamaica Inn.
