Arsenal FC have pulled off a major summer signing, bringing in England winger Noni Madueke from London rivals Chelsea in a deal worth an initial £48.5 million.
The 23-year-old joins the Gunners on a five-year contract, with the total fee potentially rising to just over £50 million, with performance-related add-ons.
Madueke left Chelsea’s Club World Cup camp in the United States ahead of their 3-0 final win over Paris Saint-Germain to complete his move. He becomes the latest addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
Since arriving in January 2023 for £30 million, Madueke has made 92 appearances, scored 20 goals, and played a vital role in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League triumph.
Before his time in the Netherlands, where he won the KNVB Cup with PSV, Madueke developed in the academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.
His international career is also on the rise; he made his senior England debut in August 2024 and provided the assist for Harry Kane’s decisive goal in last month’s 1-0 World Cup qualifier win over Andorra.
