Arsenal are on the verge of signing 16-year-old Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero, who will officially join the Gunners once they turn 18.
The duo is expected in London this week to complete the move, with five year contracts set to begin in August 2027.
Edwin, a right sided winger, has drawn comparisons to Brazil’s Neymar, while Holger, an attacking midfielder, has been likened to former Liverpool and Barcelona star Thiago Alcantara.
The pair are joining from Ecuadorian Serie A side Independiente Del Valle, with the transfer fee rumored to reach £9 million. The club has a strong reputation for producing top talent, including Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, and youngster Kendry Paez
The deal has been in the works for more than a year and reflects Arsenal’s renewed focus on bringing in the world’s best young prospects. While the twins are likely to start in the academy, there is potential for a fast track to the first team if they develop quickly enough by 2027.
London rivals Chelsea have seen success with a similar approach, signing highly rated youngsters from around the world, with Brazil winger Estevao Willian among the latest to break through at Stamford Bridge.
