This Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council (GLC) has found attorney Wilwood Adams guilty of professional misconduct.

Adams, who has offices located at Lot 15, Leaders Plaza, Mandeville, Manchester, has been suspended from practicing law in Jamaica for a period of six-months, effective April 1, 2026.

The order was made following a hearing into a complaint brought against the attorney. The GLC is reminding attorneys of section 20(1) of the Legal Profession Act, which reads as follows:

Wilwood Adams

No attorney shall, in connection with his practice as a lawyer, without the written permission of the Council, which may be given for such a period and subjected to such conditions as the Council thinks fit, employ or remunerate any person who to his knowledge is disqualified from practicing as a lawyer by reason of the fact that his name has been struck off the Roll, otherwise than at his on request, or that he is suspended from practicing  as a lawyer.”
