Minister of Investment and Commerce Aubyn Hill lauded Dushyant Savadia and his company, the Amber Group, for the strides made in the technology industry and progress made in Jamaica.

He noted the work done with the National AI Lab and contributions to nation-building.

Below is the minister’s full address at Amber Group’s 10th anniversary gala dinner held at the AC Marriott Hotel in New Kingston:

I am pleased to be here as the minister of investment & commerce to celebrate this milestone achievement of the Amber Group at this 10th anniversary gala dinner.

Ambassador Dushyant Savadia, congratulations to you and the Amber team. Ten years of bold entrepreneurship, cutting-edge technology, and very tangible results. The Amber Group has created jobs, trained many of our young Jamaicans, and placed Jamaica firmly on the global digital stage.

Amber is part of Jamaica’s growth engine. It is fully aligned with the Government’s mission of digital transformation, higher productivity, increased exports and bringing greater foreign earnings to our nation.

Amber Group keeps pushing the performance and results boundaries to higher and higher levels.

  • REVO TV is Jamaica’s first 24/7 AI-driven digital network, launched from the former SportsMax studio.

This platform creates jobs, strengthens content production, connects the diaspora, and amplifies Jamaica’s voice in regional media.

  • Through a 50 per cent acquisition of Brawta Livin’, Amber is building a subscription rewards platform that keeps consumer value on-island and empowers small merchants to compete.
  •  Amber HEART Academy is training coders and digital professionals. The programme addresses skill gaps and equips our workforce for the demands of exporters.
  • Amber is developing exportable services and platforms in fintech, cybersecurity and aviation. As many of you will guess, the development of these exportable services warms my heart because Jamaica is not going to get rich as we need to be, selling to just under 3 million people with a per capita GDP of just about US$7,000.

• It takes sound and sustained good management of the economy by the government led by [Prime Minister] Dr Andrew Holness, to provide the proper ecosystem that fosters growth by the Amber Group and companies like it.

• Now think about this: In 2015, Jamaica’s net international reserve (NIR) was US$2.4 billion (23.5 weeks of goods and services imports). In 2020, the NIR was US$3.1 billion; in September 2025, the NIR was US$6.2 billion. Double the amount in five years since 2020!

With sound fiscal prudence, this Government has reduced debt, kept growth steady, and controlled inflation.

Modernised investment laws, streamlined approvals, and digitised services allow businesses like Amber to move quickly, grow boldly, and succeed.

Ambassador Savadia and the Amber Group; your vision and drive show the best of Jamaican enterprise.

I challenge every CEO and entrepreneur in this room and across Jamaica to train your people, digitise your systems, invest substantially more in training your employees, raise productivity, and grow your exports. The Government will continue to ensure Jamaica remains fiscally prudent, digitally prepared, and globally competitive.

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary, Ambassador Savadia and the Amber Group.

Thank you.
