Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves could land one of the biggest paydays ever for a non-All-Star. Reports suggest his next contract could start at US$30 million per season.
At 27, Reaves has emerged as the Lakers’ go-to player in the early weeks of the 2025-26 season, stepping up while stars like LeBron James and Luka Doncic are sidelined.
Through five games, Reaves is averaging 34.2 points, 10 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, shooting 52.5 per cent from the field, 38.5 per cent from three, and 89.7 per cent from the free throw line.
For now, he is definitely one of the Lakers’ leading scorers as well as one of the top perimeter threats in the Western Conference.
