Aviation Communications Jamaica Limited (AvCom) is pushing Jamaica’s safety enhancement through its advanced information and communications technology solutions.

By introducing new products and showcasing their comprehensive offerings, AvCom continues to play a vital role in driving Jamaica’s technological advancement and economic growth. In partnership with global industry leaders like Motorola, TRbonet, and Salto, AvCom is delivering innovative solutions that are boosting the efficiency, security, and overall development of Jamaican businesses and government operations.

AvCom — which entered the Jamaican market in December 2013, following the successful establishment of its sister company, Aviation Communication Limited, in the Cayman Islands in March 1982 — is making its presence felt in the market.

The company’s success is guided by the vision of its four directors, all of whom are rooted in Jamaican soil and bring extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors.

Contributor to local economic growth

Earlier this year, AvCom held its tech Summit highlighting its contributions to local economic growth and development through cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and security of Jamaican businesses and government operations. According to her, “the AvCom Tech Summit showcased our steadfast commitment to providing innovative and reliable technology solutions. We are proud to partner with esteemed companies like Motorola, TRbonet, and Salto to bring the best in technology to Jamaica. Our solutions are not just about improving business operations; they are about contributing to the safety and economic development of our communities.”

AvCom’s partnership with Motorola, a global leader in communication solutions, further showcases the company’s commitment to delivering world-class technology. Motorola’s advanced communication systems, combined with TRbonet’s versatile dispatch solutions and Salto’s innovative access control systems, provide a comprehensive suite of tools that enhance both operational efficiency and security.

Network Data Supervisor at the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) Joseph Wallace, praised AvCom’s technology for enhancing the UDC’s operations and security measures.

“AvCom has been instrumental in several of our projects, including the WiFi setup at Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay and the CCTV network at the Jamaica Conference Centre. Their access control systems, which we plan to roll out at new locations like the Portmore Resilience Park, are vital for ensuring the safety of our properties,” he said.

Wallace emphasised the importance of AvCom’s solutions in addressing crime concerns in Jamaica saying, “The CCTV systems provided by AvCom are crucial for monitoring our properties and enhancing public safety. Their technology helps us track and safeguard our assets, contributing to a greater sense of security for our community.”
