On January 22, 2006, Kobe Bryant historically made 81 points for the Lakers against the Raptors, a mark that stood just below Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game from 1962.
For over 20 years, Bryant’s feat remained the second-highest scoring performance in the league until Bam Adebayo blew past it on Tuesday.
Playing against the Washington Wizards, Adebayo scored 83 points, already surpassing his previous career high of 41 by halftime and breaking multiple Miami Heat franchise records.
While Adebayo edged Bryant by two points, debates will rage over which performance was more impressive.
