American Airlines, the largest carrier in the United States by fleet size, capacity and passenger numbers, just announced more flights to and from Barbados during the upcoming winter tourist season.

The Fort Worth-headquartered AA noted that the scale-up forms part of a broader expansion in Miami, where the carrier is planning more flights to the easternmost Caribbean island.

The airline has announced that it will be expanding service between Miami International Airport and Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados to three daily flights for the season.

The service will cover the period between December 20 and January 7, 2024, according to the carrier.

This is yet another boost Barbados, which has seen a strong tourism recovery in 2023, which seems set to continue into the New Year.

Barbados is experiencing a booming season, buoyed by demand for events like the ultra-popular Crop Over festival.
