The governments of Belize and The Bahamas have announced the dates for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour to their respective countries, even as new details emerge of a second Royal couple joining the Caribbean-wide ‘Commonwealth Tour’.

In a public notice issued late Thursday (February 24), the press office of the Belizean Government indicated that House Cambridge’s tour would start there first, as the itinerary has been set for March 19-22.

“The visit of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Belize is the first stop on their Caribbean tour which they are undertaking in the context of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee,” the press office disclosed.

“During their stay in Belize, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have an opportunity to see Belize’s pioneering work in coral reef restoration and visit the southern part of Belize, where they will visit with Maya and Garifuna communities,” the Government of Belize advised further.

The office also said that its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration will be coordinating the visit.

From there, it is expected that Prince William and his wife, Kate, would then travel to Jamaica and The Bahamas as official representatives of Queen Elizabeth II in the Caribbean.

To this end, the Government of The Bahamas, in a similar advisory that day, noted the Royals’ schedule for March 24-26.

The latest development sees Buckingham Palace declaring that the Earl and Countess of Wessex will also be representing Queen Elizabeth II in official visits to the Eastern Caribbean.

Prince Edward, the Queen’s youngest son, and his wife Sophie will make appearances in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The visit of the Wessex couple, a month after House Cambridge would have left, will run between April 22-28.

Additionally, Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence will visit Papua New Guinea between April 11-13.
