Roughly two months after last visiting, American music executive James Prince was officially welcomed back to Belize by Director of Tourism Evan Tillett on Wednesday (December 29).

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB), in a brief statement, explained that Prince was greeted on safely landing at Philip Goldson International Airport.

Travelling with J Prince is Grammy Award-winning rapper, songwriter and fashion designer Kanye West.

The BTB, through Tillett, presented Prince with a commemorative gift and wished both stars “a fruitful, enjoyable and memorable vacation in the Jewel”.

Prince, the CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records, was instrumental in ending the years-long feud between A-list acts Drake and Kanye. The respected black executive also placed his Midas touch on the #FreeLarryHoover concert, at which both Drake and West performed in Los Angeles on December 10.

In an October 31 Instagram post, coinciding with his 57th birthday, J Prince described Belize as a place “close to heaven”.

In the video, Prince, surrounded by crystal-clear ocean, promised to return to Belize with his entire family “soon”.

The comment was a direct clap back to pop princess Britney Spears, who gave the country a ‘thumbs down’ for her stay at the Gladden Caye Resort.

“Who would ever thought a ghetto boy would be standing on a rock, in the middle of the ocean, in this beautiful place called Belize? Now I don’t know what Britney Spears is talking about [but] let me be the first to tell y’all this place, Belize, happens to be a place that’s close to heaven. And imma leave it right there,” he said.
