Bellevue Hospital confirms patient death on Hospital compound

Bellevue Hospital, along Windward Road in Kingston, stands as the only health facility in Jamaica that caters solely to the needs of the mentally ill.

Bellevue Hospital has confirmed that a patient died on the hospital compound on Monday, February 16, 2026.

 The patient’s family has been notified, and the Hospital extends its deepest condolences during this difficult time.

An internal review process has commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Hospital is cooperating with the relevant authorities.

Bellevue Hospital recognises the seriousness of this matter. The safety and well-being of patients remain central to the Hospital’s mandate.
