

Legendary reggae crooner Beres Hammond headlines a New York tri-state tour in August, as part of Jamaica’s Independence celebratory events.
The undisputed ‘King of Lovers’ Rock’ is set to captivate audiences across the tri-state area with his soulful voice and timeless hits, the Jamaica Consulate General in New York has confirmed.
According to a report from Caribbean Life.com, Beres Hammond and Friends will perform at three iconic venues: College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut on August 1; Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn on August 3 and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark on August 4.

The tour kicks off at the College Street Music Hall in New Haven, where fans can expect an electrifying performance filled with classic hits and new favourites with the Jamaican Consulate saying, “the intimate setting of the hall will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night of music.”
Renowned for hits like ‘Rockaway‘, ‘Tempted to Touch‘, and ‘I Feel Good‘, the Jamaica Consulate General says Beres Hammond’s music “transcends generations and continues to resonate with fans worldwide noting, “the tour is proudly presented by Jammins Reggae Fest and supported by the Consulate General of Jamaica in New York.”
According to the consulate, “Beres Hammond, renowned for his unique blend of soulful reggae, has been a mainstay in the music industry for over four decades. His smooth, emotive voice and heartfelt lyrics have earned him a place among reggae’s elite, often referred to as the ‘Otis Redding of reggae.”

Continuing, the Jamaican Consulate explains that the Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn, an outdoor venue, known for its vibrant atmosphere and stunning views of the ocean, is “an ideal location for a summer evening concert….fans can enjoy the music under the stars, making for a truly magical experience.”
The final stop of the tour will be at the NJPAC in Newark, which is one of the premier venues in the region, which offers “state-of-the-art acoustics and a spacious setting, ensuring that every note of Hammond’s soulful performance will be heard in crystal-clear quality.”
The organisers say the tour is not just a musical event but a celebration of Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage, as the concerts coincide with Jamaica’s Independence festivities, adding an extra layer of significance to the performances.
