Adelyn Mothersill was all smiles as she painted a portrait of the late Bob Marley at his 81st birthday celebration on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Bob Marley Museum.

Celebration was the order of the day as the grounds of the Bob Marley Museum came alive with tiny footsteps pattering across its grounds for the icon’s 81st birthday.

Berger Paints Jamaica Limited (BPJL) proudly sponsored the Kids Village at the family-friendly activation, bringing colour, creativity, and joy to the young attendees as they joined in honouring Marley’s enduring legacy.

The Kids Village featured a range of engaging activities designed to inspire creativity and self-expression. Children from schools across the corporate area enjoyed face painting, canvas painting, and were treated to complimentary colouring and activity books to take home and enjoy. Additionally, both children and adults were able to get live caricature portraits done, courtesy of BPJL.

Speaking on the initiative, Asheaka James, Trade Marketing Manager at BPJL, highlighted the importance of nurturing creativity in young minds while celebrating Jamaican culture.

Caricature Artist Emerald Easy joined Queen Mama Yaa for a snap after completing her drawing on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Bob Marley Museum in St Andrew.

“Bob Marley’s legacy is rooted in love, creativity, and unity, and we felt it was important to honour that legacy by creating a space where children could freely express themselves,” said James. “At Berger, colour is at the heart of what we do, and being part of the Kids Village allowed us to bring that colour to life in a meaningful way for Jamaica’s future generation.”

The Kids Village was a vibrant highlight of the celebration, offering a safe and engaging environment where families could relax while children explored art and imagination. Berger Paints Jamaica’s involvement underscored its ongoing commitment to community engagement, youth development, and supporting initiatives that celebrate Jamaican heritage.

Caricature Artist, Emerald Easy, expressed that “Bob Marley stood for creativity, freedom, and self-expression, and that’s exactly what I saw from both children and adults alike today. Through caricature, patrons were able to see themselves reflected in art, and I’m grateful to Berger Paints Jamaica for creating a space where that kind of creativity could thrive”.

The 81st birthday celebration of Bob Marley drew locals and visitors alike to the museum, reaffirming the global impact of the Reggae legend’s music, message, and influence across generations.
