Disney announced that Blue Ivy Carter will star with her mother, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, in Mufasa: The Lion King.
After the 2019 film The Lion King directed by Jon Favreau left many dissatisfied with the computer generated images (CGI) execution, Mufasa’s trailer looks exceedingly promising— thank goodness!
This time directed by Barry Jenkins, Beyoncé will be reprising her role as Nala, and Blue Ivy will join her as Kiara, the daughter of Queen Nala and King Simba, voiced by Donald Glover.
Mufasa: The Lion King tells the narrative of a young lion cub who is told about one of the greatest kings in the Pride Lands by Rafiki (John Kani), Pumbaa (Seth Rogen), and Timon (Billy Eichner) in a flashback format.
As Jenkins gives us an insight into Mufasa’s backstory, hopes are high that the plot matches the quality of the teaser/trailer.
The movie is slated to be released in theatres on December 20.
