Collaborators Beyoncé and Big Freedia are being sued by former New Orleans group Da Show Stoppaz for alleged copyright infringement from Queen Bey’s hit song ‘Break My Soul‘.

American music mogul and Knowles’ husband., Jay-Z, Sony Music Entertainment and a slew of other artistes are also named in the group’s suit as they seek royalties and credit for their phrase.

An exact compensation amount has not been specified by Da Show Stoppaz in the lawsuit.

The group claims that Big Freedia’s line ‘Release the Wiggle’ belongs to them from their song with the same name. The group also accuses Freedia of copying the phrase for her single ‘Explode’ released in 2014.

The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday (May 22), alleging unfair trade practices concerning the usage of the phrase stating that all persons mentioned were being sued because: “unique phrases, melody, and musical arrangement were used without any authorization, acknowledgement, or payment.”
