Marco Bezzecchi dominated the Portuguese Grand Prix from start to finish, scoring a flawless victory, his second of the season after triumphing at Silverstone in May.

The 26-year-old Italian, driving for Aprilia, found his rhythm early and never looked back, crossing the line more than two and a half seconds ahead of Gresini Racing’s Alex Marquez, with KTM’s Pedro Acosta completing the podium.

After settling for third last Saturday’s sprint, Bezzecchi came back stronger on Sunday (November 9). His win makes him the sixth different rider to top the podium in as many MotoGP races, tightening the battle for third in the overall standings.

Championship leader Marc Marquez remained sidelined with a collarbone injury, while Francesco Bagnaia’s crash from fourth dealt a heavy blow to his hopes of catching Bezzecchi in the rankings.

With one round left in Valencia, Bezzecchi’s consistency could secure him a spot among the season’s top three.
