Diasporans Encouraged To “Invest in Your Piece of Di Rock”

Black Ink Marketing launches its Investment & Housing Conference 2026.

The press launch took place at Trafalgar One, 1 Trafalgar Road, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

The media launch served to officially introduce the inaugural staging of the conference, aimed at engaging the Diaspora in meaningful dialogue and direct investment opportunities.

Attendees gained insight into the conference vision, met the core team, and learned about opportunities for sponsors, exhibitors, or strategic partners. The core team also fielded questions from the media regarding their participation and involvement.

Core Team

  • Gabrielle Gilpin-Hudson, Attorney-at-Law, Partner at Grant, Henry & Rhooms, and President, Realtors Association of Jamaica
  • Dr. Leighton A. Ellis, President-Elect, Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE)
  • Cheriese Walcott, CEO, National Land Agency (To Be Confirmed)
  • And other key industry stakeholders

The inaugural conference will take place in South Florida on Friday, June 5, 2026, at DoubleTree by Hilton Sawgrass under the theme “Invest in Your Piece of Di Rock,” and is designed to connect Diaspora capital to Jamaican opportunity—while enabling wealth creation, home ownership, and legacy building through strategic investment.

The conference aligns with national priorities, including expanding access to land ownership, strengthening housing solutions, and promoting wealth creation, legacy building, and community-based development. It also provides a strategic platform to showcase Jamaica’s evolving investment landscape to a global audience.

According to Maxine Miller, Conference Organiser, “We are creating a bridge between Jamaica and its Diaspora—connecting individuals to trusted partners, equipping them with the right information, and opening pathways to invest with confidence. From residential communities to commercial expansion, Jamaica stands as one of the Caribbean’s most compelling investment markets.”

She reiterates, “This initiative is about more than real estate—it is about nation-building,” said Miller.

Originally conceptualised as Jamaica’s first-of-its-kind housing and investment marketplace, the From Deed to Key Expo has since evolved into a broader, more impactful platform following its postponement in 2025 due to the effects of Hurricane Melissa. This reimagining reflects a renewed focus on rebuilding, resilience, and inclusive economic growth.
