
A number of Black-owned restaurants must be on the list for Jamaican foodies who visit Miami and Miami Beach during August and September.
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has announced Miami Spice Restaurant Months, a special period to experience a taste of the destination’s dynamic culinary scene.
With special prix fixe, three-course meals on offer for U$30 or U$35 for lunch/brunch and the option of U$45 or U$60 for dinner food lovers can savor a diverse range of culinary flavors at a selection of Black-owned eateries.
Black-owned restaurants to visit during Miami Spice Restaurant Months include:
- Dunkunoo Jamaican Kitchen, an authentic, casual Jamaican spot in the heart of artsy Wynwood.
- Red Rooster Overtown where acclaimed owner and founder Chef Marcus Samuelsson has curated a Miami Spice menu with Red Rooster Staples, many of which have earned the restaurant its MICHELIN Bib Gourmand award
- Lorna’s Caribbean and American Grille a popular Miami Gardens spot guests seeking comfort food appreciate Ms. Lorna’s hearty stews and soups along with sought after menu items such as fried conch, jerk chicken and oxtail.
On the heels of several culinary accolades in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, Miami Spice participants include Michelin-designated restaurants and feature options from more than 20 neighborhoods and cuisine types. New this year, select restaurants are offering Signature Dining Experiences that are enhanced and deliver beyond the traditional three-course menus.
