Anime distribution company Vizmedia has teased fans and silenced doubters with its release of a second trailer for the upcoming series, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood Arc, on its YouTube page yesterday (September 11).

Bleach was a supernatural action anime and manga created by Tite Kubo about the story of 15-year-old Ichigo, who uses his abilities to fight and see spirits as a ‘soul reaper’ to protect those around him from evil.

Fans of the original manga series will remember that, due to conflicts between the publishers and creators, there was a noticeable drop in visual quality and the original anime never had an ending.

Many were concerned that issues persisted and would affect the anime and, due to its 10-year hiatus, the upcoming release of the popular and more recent comedy-horror, Chainsaw Man would upstage the anime. The trailer’s high production, cinematic quality animation, retention of original voice actors plus the modern rendition of the show’s iconic first soundtrack clearly show Viz’s attempt to create one of the greatest releases of the decade.

The anime, confirmed to begin airing on October 10, will feature content never before shown in the manga and run for approximately 50 episodes released in four cours (One cour runs for three months and typically consists of anywhere between 10 to 14 episodes).

Rights for an English stream release currently belong to Disney+.
