Board shake-up at Berger Paints Jamaica

There has been a major board shake-up at Berger Paints Jamaica Limited, which will see a new Chairman and director being appointed and the departure of another.

Christian Llanos has stepped down from his position as Chairman of the Board given that his responsibilities within the parent company, ANSA McAL Group of Companies, expand into new sectors. However,  Llanos will remain a Director of the Company. 

The Board thanks Llanos for his leadership and valued service as Chairman and looks forward to his continued contribution as a member of the Board. In the meantime,  Ian Mitchell has been elected Chairman of the Board in Llanos’ place.

Craig La Croix has resigned from his position as a Director of the Board, with effect from April 22, 2026. The board expresses its sincere appreciation for his invaluable contributions, support, and leadership during his tenure and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

He has been replaced by Ian Mitchell, who was appointed as a Director of the Board. Mitchell is the Sector Head for the Construction Sector of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies and is an experienced executive with a proven track record in leading transformation, driving growth, and delivering operational excellence across manufacturing businesses. 

The Board welcomes his appointment and looks forward to his valuable contribution. Trinidad-based ANSA McAL Limited Group, is the majority shareholder of Berger Paints Jamaica. ANSA McAL acquired a controlling stake of approximately 51.1% to 53.9% of the company in 2017 through its subsidiary, solidifying its position as the Caribbean’s leading paint manufacturer.
