With thousands of Jamaicans still grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation has mobilised nationwide relief efforts, delivering essential supplies and beginning long-term rebuilding work.

Guided by the spirit of #OneLoveInAction, the Foundation has already provided food, clean water, hygiene kits, and emergency items to some of the hardest-hit communities across the island.

Working in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), Food for the Poor, local grassroots organisations, and through an official GoFundMe collaboration with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterlin, who is of Jamaican descent, the Foundation is ensuring that urgent support reaches families quickly and effectively. This marks the first phase of a broader recovery mission focused on roofing repairs, home restoration, and community infrastructure.

Echoing Bob and Rita Marley’s legacy of empowerment, unity, and care, the Foundation emphasises that this is not charity it is the continuation of a movement rooted in music, humanity, and the enduring spirit of Jamaica.

To date, the Foundation team has directly supported more than 3,000 families. On November 5, in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, over 2,000 families received assistance through the partnership with GEM. Most recently, the team visited Cave Valley, St Ann, hosting a distribution drive at the Cave Valley Police Station, where more than 600 families received supply kits containing food and other essential items.

“One Love isn’t just a song or a slogan… it’s action. It’s a call to act with compassion and unity,” said Alicia Williams, Manager of the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation. “One Love in Action means showing up for each other today, and for as long as recovery takes.”
