Effective yesterday (February 24), the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) resumed normal banking services to the public.

Yesterday’s resumption came after the BOJ temporarily suspended the offering of over-the-counter teller services to the public on February 12 in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The BOJ advised that its Nethersole Place location has reopened to the public and that it would resume the offering of limited teller services to the
public between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily until further advised.

SERVICES BEING OFFERED

The services now being offered are:

  • Exchange of foreign currencies
  • Exchange of mutilated and contaminated Jamaica dollar currency within stipulated guidelines.

With respect to coin exchange services, the BOJ recommended that the public continue to utilise the services of GraceKennedy Payment Services at their locations islandwide.

For other banking services, the BOJ advised the public to rely on their commercial banks or other deposit-taking entities.
